Huu Trung Quach, MD, PhD, is a Vietnamese physician-executive with more than 35 years of experience spanning cardiovascular medicine, hospital leadership, healthcare transformation and digital health. He currently serves as Director of Vinmec Da Nang International Hospital. Previously, he led Hospital 199 of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, where he advanced patient-centred care, telemedicine, digital transformation and the 199 Vietnam Medical Innovation Hub. His current interests include clinical excellence, smart hospitals, artificial intelligence in healthcare, medical tourism and healthy longevity.

Attending the TMS Course: Asia Edition 2026 on transcranial magnetic stimulation
On 7 November 2026, Dr. Huu Trung Quach, MD, PhD, attended the TMS Course: Asia Edition 2026 at 108 Military Central Hospital in Hanoi. The two-day international course (7–8 November 2026) was organised by Neurosoft with Mosneuro Vietnam and ANT Neuro, together with the hospital’s Physical Therapy Department. It covered TMS safety, motor threshold determination, applications in neurology, psychiatry and post-stroke rehabilitation, neuronavigation, and advanced techniques such as TMS-EEG.
Faculty included Dr. Hoang Tien Trong Nghia, MD, PhD, Head of Neurology at Military Hospital 175, who spoke on building a TMS service in neurology, and Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, MD, PhD, Deputy Head of Physical Therapy at 108 Military Central Hospital, who spoke on TMS in neurorehabilitation, from neuroplasticity to clinical practice. Dr. Quach also tried a neuronavigated TMS system and visited the TMS room of the hospital’s Physical Therapy Department.
He attended with Dr. Tran Nguyen Tuan Minh, MD, PhD, who leads TMS at Vinmec Da Nang. From June to August 2026, Dr. Minh completed a three-month clinical rTMS training at the Department of Neurology, China Medical University Hospital (CMUH), Taichung, Taiwan, including 42 supervised treatment sessions. Vinmec Da Nang aims to deliver TMS to a high standard: safe, personalised and evidence-based, as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation programme.
Joining the Medical Tourism and Traditional Medicine Health Care Committee, Da Nang Oriental Medicine Association
On 6 November 2026, the Da Nang Oriental Medicine Association held a meeting to review two years of implementing Conclusion No. 86-KL/TW and the Association’s work in the first nine months of 2026. At the meeting, the Association announced its specialised committees for the 2026–2031 term. Under Decision No. 137/QĐ-HĐY dated 2 November 2026, Dr. Huu Trung Quach, MD, PhD, a member of the Association’s Executive Committee, was appointed Deputy Head of the Medical Tourism and Traditional Medicine Health Care Committee.
The committee is chaired by Mr. Phan Van Bon, a member of the Standing Committee. It works on traditional-medicine wellness services for visitors, to make traditional medicine a distinctive part of tourism in Da Nang. Vinmec Da Nang International Hospital sent representatives to the meeting.
Professor Duong Quy Sy holds a sleep medicine clinic and teaches Vinmec Da Nang clinicians
On 4 November 2026, Vinmec Da Nang welcomed Professor Duong Quy Sy, President of the Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine and Professor at Penn State College of Medicine (USA). In the morning he saw and advised patients with insomnia, snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea and sleep disorders alongside cardiometabolic disease. In the afternoon he taught the hospital’s clinical staff.
The lecture, “Basic Sleep Medicine – Part 1: Sleep Apnoea and Its Comorbidities”, was part of the hospital’s scientific programme for doctors, nurses and technicians. It stressed that obstructive sleep apnoea is common, affecting about 8.5% of Vietnamese adults according to the EPSASIE study. Rates are much higher in people with cardiovascular disease, stroke, metabolic syndrome, resistant hypertension or type 2 diabetes, so every specialty needs to screen and co-manage.
This was his fourth monthly clinic day since the regular sessions began on 18 August 2026 (the third was on 7 October 2026; each month’s date is announced two weeks in advance). “Part 1” opens a sleep medicine training series for staff, within a long-term collaboration in clinical care, teaching, research and training.
