About

Dr Vo Thi Hong Huong has more than 20 years of experience in rehabilitation medicine and hospital management in Da Nang. She qualified as a physician at Hue Medical University, completed Specialist Level I training in Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, and Specialist Level II training in Health Management at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University. She also holds an MBA (FSB Institute of Management and Technology, FPT University) and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language (Hue University).

She began as an attending physician in the Department of Traditional Medicine at Hospital 199 in 2005, led the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from 2013 to 2021, and headed the General Planning Department from 2021 to 2025. Since February 2025 she has been Deputy Director of Hospital 199 – Ministry of Public Security, responsible for quality management, nursing, rehabilitation, traditional medicine, nutrition, laboratory medicine and pathology.

Having spent eight years as a traditional medicine physician before specialising in rehabilitation, she combines traditional medicine, modern medicine and rehabilitation within a single care plan. Her central aim is to move rehabilitation from “treatment by technique” to comprehensive recovery: treatment, rehabilitation and return to community life. She has transferred this model to Van Don Medical Centre, Dong Nai Hospital and Infirmary No. 2 of the Quang Tri Provincial Police.

In quality management she favours a proactive approach: identifying risks, monitoring, analysing and improving continuously, rather than inspecting only to find errors. In innovation, she is a founding member of 199VIH and founded an Innovation Club and a Medical English Club for young doctors, nurses and technicians. She now brings innovation into her own specialty: digitally enabled rehabilitation and hospital operations.
